1.) Turn Off Cell Phone Notifications: This means, alerts, ringers, gym alarms, to-do alarms, texting sounds.all.of.it. Take time to pay attention to what notifications are stealing your focus throughout the day and make a change.
2.) Don’t be that guy: You know Im talking to YOU. Yes, YOU! Nose deep in your phone! Put it down while you’re in a meeting, a restaurant. If you cant stay off your phone to spend time with people while you’re out, you probably should cancel next time. John & I recently went to dinner with a few of my siblings and Its so crazy to me how many times they picked up their phones. We have limited time on this earth, spend it paying attention. I am 100% guilty of this from time to time, but I try and make a constant effort to change it.
3.) Save it for later: You dont have to post in the moment, social media and that group chat your on will be there in the morning. I am also guilty of this, I get so excited while at weddings, special occasions or just hanging with my bf’s, John or my family that I want to share it with the world. Be present and send the photos or post on social media the next time while you have down time.
4.) Make Time: If the person is important, the thing, if you like to read, bike, run, you name it..make time for it. Its important to set aside YOU time to decompress. This will help you be more alert when you are busy and be present at work and throughout your day.
