(has the best fried chicken EVER!)
Happy Friday Friends! Hope everyone had a fabulous week!! I got back on Monday from an amazing trip to my second home of Ormond Beach Florida where my family was all down to celebrate my mom’s birthday. It was a short trip but so happy I got to spend time with everyone and see my mom…its been WAY too long…I actually think that was the longest her and I have ever gone without seeing one another in my 30 years being her daughter, haha. Is everyone gearing up for the long holiday weekend? Leave a comment below, would love to know what fun plans everyone has on the calendar! No matter if your laying low or going on a trip, I hope you enjoy it! Have a great weekend, XO – ATS

Happy Labor Day weekend! I cannot believe it is the official ending of Summer already. It always feels like every summer moves by so fast, and every year seems faster than the last. I love summer but I REALLY love the fall so I am looking forward to that season ahead! For this long weekend, Robert and I took off to Long Island to visit with the family at the Raynor Resort!
We arrived here yesterday late, because we wanted to spend this morning at Flying Point beach with coffee and our favorite breakfast sandwiches from Ted’s East End Market, an incredible local deli. We have not been to the beach all summer, I know insane right? But we ended up choosing to spend more time this summer in the Berkshire mountains than at the beach. We love the Berkshires and are happy to have enjoyed so much of our summer there, but there is nothing like ending the summer with salt air and sandy toes! We love spending the mornings at the beach, because it is as if the whole beach is your own. Not many people arrive until late morning or early afternoon, so Robert and I enjoy a dip in the ocean and our breakfast while listening to the waves crashing on shore. Closer to 11AM is when it starts to become busier with beachgoers, so that’s when we would head out feeling completely satisfied with out relaxing morning.
Today’s plan is to head to my favorite winery, Wolffer for a wine tasting and cheese board. I haven’t been in such a long time, I am looking forward to heading back there. Then maybe we will hit the town, I love Sag Harbor most of all, you can see all the fancy yachts on the docks and Sag Harbor has some of the best restaurants around! Tomorrow Robert’s parents are throwing a little Labor Day bash, so I will make sure to keep you all in the know with IG stories! xo ~kpr
Have a wonderful long weekend while you say farewell to summer!
I am excited it is finally the weekend, as I always am. Summer weekends are so much more fun and productive for me. This weekend is the long independence day weekend and to celebrate I am having an amazing new Giveaway starting TOMORROW, so make sure to check our instagram & Facebook for the details!!
The fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays! I love watching fireworks, and have seen some really incredible shows. Some of my favorites include the year that R and I were heading back to Massachusetts after a weekend in the Hamptons with my in-laws, and while sitting on top of the ferry boat, snuggling under a blanket, R and I were able to catch every single fireworks show that went off along the shoreline from NY to CT, it was amazing! But my absolute favorite fireworks show was the one that we watched at the North Sea Carnival in 2013, down the road from my in-laws house. This show was particularly wonderful because R just popped the question, and we were officially engaged!
This year we are going to the annual James Taylor 4th of July concert at Tanglewood! I cannot wait to spent the day picnicking on the lawn and listening to James Taylor music all day in the sun. We then get to watch the fireworks show while snuggle under a blanket on the big Tanglewood lawn, it’s such an incredible venue for fireworks because the Lenox sky just seems bigger than most. If you watch our insta-stories, I will absolutely make sure to share the excitement with you all, and will also make sure to share some of my favorite picnic recipes soon with my next Raynor Recipes, I hope you all tried and enjoyed the amazing BuFALLo off-the-bone Wings!
Have a wonderful and fun 4th of July!

Hope everyone is gearing up and ready for the long weekend. Rent the Runway gives us the 3rd & 4th off so I am excited to just have some time not in the office or on location somewhere. I have an extremely long three days of shooting for work after the break so I need all the downtime I can get!
I have a summer Friday today, which means I get to leave work around one or two which is nice. I will be heading up to Massachusetts for the evening to see Colton (my Godson), his mom Mollie (who is my bff from Springfield College), her husband Erik & their newborn baby Lachlan!! He is only about a week old, so I’m super excited I get to head up to see him right away. Between Mollie & Kate we have two new babies to add to our family this month – YAY! I will only get to be in Mass overnight as I want to get back to help/see my family during there last 3 days in Ridgewood. I am so very happy that they are officially starting this new chapter down in Florida, but sad that I wont have them next-door any longer. I guess I will just have to start requesting more time off to have some fun in the sun down in FL. John is away in Columbia right now for a bachelor party and then heading off on business – so Its just me, my family & his family this 4th. Ps- who has a bachelor party in Columbia!?!…Note: to my friends who have yet to get married…Please have a destination bachelorette, thank you :)…I know I will! My parent home will be completely empty by the time I get back to NJ on Saturday so I will be staying at John’s parents who conveniently live around the corner from mine (I will SOOO miss how easy the holidays were this past year!). Well, that about sum up my holiday – babies, friends, family, packing and I hope to see some fireworks or the Ridgewood 4th Parade which I have always loved to attend with my Step-Dad.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend and a very happy & safe 4th of July weekend! XO, ats
“You cant stop the waves but you can learn to surf.”
Isn’t the ocean such a beautiful thing? I think one of the reasons we all love to enjoy the beach and the ocean view so much is because watching it is a lot like looking at our lives. Everyday the tides change, bringing in new things- the bad, the good, things that will stay and some that will eventually go. We all have had those times while swimming in the ocean where you see a giant wave coming and by the time you realize you’ve already been knocked down and entangled by the sea. Its important in those moments to not only get back up but to evaluate what went wrong so you don’t make the same mistake twice.
Todays post is all about handling what life brings us, ways to de-stress, stay motivated and positive in times where we just want to throw in the towel.
Lets be real, I am absolutely NOT a doctor so all my opinions below are just that. Tips and advice I have found helpful over the years while facing what life brought me. I like to pride myself on the fact that a lot of my friends have come to me for guidance over the years, when really all I ever tell them is that they need to follow their hearts but never make the same mistake twice.
Tips I like to follow:
1.) Surround yourself with good people: Who you associate and choose to spend your time with is very important. I have been truly lucky over the years to not only have the best and most supportive family, but have friends that are like gold to me. I have a very tight knit group of friends from college who just get me…the good, the bad..the ugly they just get me. So in times of frustration, stress, and loss I tend to lean on those friends and family to get me through. Its also important to have friends who just listen with no judgement. No one knows what you’re going through but you, so sometimes it just nice to vent and tell those loved ones whats going on. Telling your story to someone helps get those internal negative emotions out. This will help you move forward in your life and put one foot in front of the other once again.
2.) Talk to people who have been in your shoes: No one has the same chemical makeup as you, but there are people who know EXACTLY what you’re going through and have been there. I’ve had a particularly rough few months but I just want to take the time to thank those people ( you know who you are ) who have been in my shoes and helped me through. I have always found certain people come into my life when I need them most. Usually those people have experienced similar things in recent times and are able to guide me through to becoming myself again. A few weeks back someone told me ” The Ashley I know is back, its so nice to see you smile again.” Having people like that in your life and just something as simple as those words can really make all the difference.
3.) Have good vibes & stay positive: Lets face it, whatever issue your going through today won’t be the worst situation you’ll ever have to face and definitley wont be the last. Its also never as bad as it seems or comparable to the real issues going on in the world today. Whether your dealing with a break up, a death of a loved one or just having a bad day, its very important to stay positive and do positive things to help you move forward. Yes, it is very important to take time to grieve those losses and changes but also only give yourself a few days or weeks to mope about ( insert those netflix and dominos days here ). Sitting and being sad is only wasting your life away. There is no right or wrong way to grieve life changes but you also don’t want to let your current life pass you by….we only get one. Carpe Diem!
4.) Stay active: Join a gym, go for a run, reconnect with old friends, take up a new hobby or even an old one you’ve forgotten about. One thing Ive decided to focus on again is reading. Diving into a good book always helps refocus my mind and is a great escape when dealing with stress. ( Below are some summer beach reads I’ve enjoyed this year).
5.) Take some time for YOU & get away: One of my favorite things to do is to travel, give me a map and I’d just point to a spot and go if I could. I have been fortunate enough to be able to spend time with my family this summer at our condo in Ormond, Florida. This condo means the world to me as its been in my life since I was born. The condo was originally purchased by my Mama Taylor (my moms mom) & Uncle Gene (her brother) in the late 70’s as a family getaway spot. Its been passed down over the years and is someplace I have some of my fondest childhood memories in. We have completely outgrown this 1bedroom condo over the years but its just something we could never give up so my mom decided to renovate it this past April and keep it in our family (GO MOM & THANK YOU!). Being with family and just taking time for yourself is such a great way to de-stress, reflect and set goals for your future. Taking ME time is something I’ve never really been good at doing until recently but have seen quite a change in my stress levels when I take time to relax and rejuvenate.

Always remember, you can get around any boulders in the road you may come across just stay positive and never loose your inner beauty along the way.
