I’m so excited to recap my amazing trip to Cabo with all of you! Although I can in no way sum it up entirely unless I could pack you in my suitcase and take you along with me, but I will try to give you the best description I can. This was a trip to celebrate a dear friends wedding that turned into a much needed vacation for my husband and I. We have both never been to Mexico before and Cabo was absolutely the best choice!
We stayed at The Bahia Hotel a chic, modern boutique hotel found in the heart of Cabo, and located walking distance to almost everything! Cabo is a late night kind of town, with no last call you can party until the sun comes up, at the Bahia its no different. You can enjoy live music every night at their restaurant, Bar Esquina, giving them the name “The hippest gathering spot in town“. Now with the live music every night you want to consider what your plans will be while visiting. Robert and I are morning people and not much for the late night scene, so when we arrived and heard about the music, although excited to enjoy it also knew we wouldn’t be doing so all night, we asked for a room located farther back in the hotel to avoid the late late night noise. The folks at the Bahia were very accommodating to our needs, I cannot talk enough about the staff, two in particular Amir & Berenice were outstanding in accommodating our room to a quieter location as well as setting up a private car back to the airport on our final day. No is not an answer for these folks, the service is unparalleled and if the hotel wasn’t wonderful enough, the staff make the stay worth it!
We began our trip by celebrating our dear friends wedding at Flora Farms, an organic farm in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains in San Jose del Cabo, I swear it was out of a magazine! The décor was beautiful, from lace runners and rosemary accents on your plate to cold towels after the sunny ceremony and mason jar margaritas to help you cool down. The ceremony took place is a garden overflowing with layers of flowers. The quartet played beautiful music while the blush bridesmaid dresses flowed carelessly over the manicure grass. The bride had a long lace ball gown and our dear friend the groom with a giant smile – it was all just perfect!
As for the remainder of our trip, we soaked in as much sun as we could, and took on adventures like Jet skiing to the Arch rock formations, ATV riding in the dessert, and chartering a boat with Lands End Charters for Robert to go fishing! My husband has gone clamming and has fished off docks when he was younger, but nothing like fishing from a chartered boat in the Pacific Ocean. As a special surprise to us, we had ended up chartering the boat on the opening day of the Bisbee Black & Blue Fishing Tournament, which has grown into the largest payout in sport fishing history. It was so much fun listening to the count down for the competition to begin over the boat radio with our captain, then experiencing all the boats zooming by in all directions heading out to catch the big one! Robert caught a couple fish himself, just not ones large enough for us to submit into the Bisbee tournament hehe. Fishing was a blast, from seeing the outstanding sunrise on our way out to sea, to watching the excitement in my husbands face when he caught his first fish – It was a great ending to a great vacation!
