Happy Friday fashion friends! Another week down, hope it was a good one for you all. I’m currently in LA getting ready to head to Day1 of Coachella! My sister Noelle & I flew in late last night from New Jersey and are so pumped to get the weekend started! Yes, we are spending Easter Weekend in LA at a music festival… but my view is as long as you’re spending the holiday with family who cares how or where you spend it. This is the first of two weekends that Coachella has, and I must say this years lineup is pretty amazing (you can check it out here). Beyonce was originally the headliner for this weekend but backed out after she announced she is expecting her second child…Lady Gaga is now taking her place and I can’t say I hate it. Noelle and I have been to a bunch of music festivals but this is our first experience at Coachella so Im excited to see what its all about. Noelle is celebrating her 19th birthday next weekend so this is a fun way to kick that off together! Noelle is actually way cooler and way more stylish than I could ever be…+ fun fact: she also knows a few celebrities that are attending – so this weekend should be interesting being surrounded by people who she will likely find a way for us to hang with…quite the dynamic duo the two of us are so I know we are in for such a fun weekend!
This week I decided to get back on track and started eating healthy (again) does anyone else fall off as often as I do? I feel like its every other week. Usually when I begin a healthy eating plan its more about the portion control, which is helpful for me because I grew up eating a lot to try to gain weight, now that is backfiring and I eat all too much- Ugh! This time I want to focus on the types of food I am eating and choose better options. I have incorporated a green smoothie to my day because its the best way to get tons of vegetables and when mixed with yummy fruit the veggies taste better, did I mention I am NOT a fan of vegetables? Here is the recipe in case you want to try it out for yourself:
- 2 cups Leafy Greens – I use Spinach
Other Options: Kale, Bok Choy, Swiss Chard, Collard Greens
- 2 cups Liquid Base -I use Almond Milk
Other Options: Water, Coconut water, coconut milk
- 3 cups Fruit -I use frozen Banana’s or Blueberries
Other Options: Mango, Avocado, Peach, Pear, Pineapple, Apple, etc.
- Boost your smoothie by adding: Coconut oil
Other Options: Chia Seeds, Almond Butter, Flax Seeds, Hemp Seeds, Cocao
Hint: by adding the coconut oil, which is fat, to your smoothie you will stay fuller longer. Often times I felt hungry almost immediately after drinking my smoothies, but after adding the coconut oil I’ve noticed a difference. I have already started feeling more energized throughout the day and see a difference in my skin and attitude, now I look forward to loosing a few LBs before swimsuit season officially begins (Yikes!). Along with my green smoothie I am also trying to incorporate lots of protein and whole grains into my diet and to cut out as many sugars and processed food as possibly. I will admit I have a passion for food and dieting is always hard for me because what is life without a decadent chocolate cake or yummy pizza, but I guess life will last a little longer if I cut those out more often (#wishthatwasnttrue). Anyways, healthier me is coming at ya, and I am excited to share how its going next week!
P.S. the wrinkle cream search is still in full affect, right now I am loving the TULA Revitalizing eye cream and hydrating day & night cream, I am noticing my skin seems clearer and smoother! I will keep you updated on the next one I try!
Have a beautiful weekend everyone!
