A few weeks ago I got eyelash extensions for the first time! I have always been so jealous of people with long lashes, including ATS (natural beauty she is!) and have tested out lash conditioners like RevitaLash. I have definitely seen the difference in lash length but just keep wanting them longer and longer! When I heard that my friend Kate had eyelash extensions at her salon, I was all ears (and eyes!)

I have been interested in the process for eyelash extensions for awhile now, and have been researching what it all entails and was so excited when a salon I trusted had the extensions! It was suggested to not have coffee before I go for my appointment, because I would be laying there for about two hours for the application, and I wouldn’t want to flutter your eyes too much. This was going to be tough for me, because you all know I love my morning cappuccinos, but if that was going to be the hardest part then I figured I would be okay! For the first 4-8 hours, you don’t want to get your lashes wet or apply any makeup – just leave them be. After that, you can wear anything you would like! Honestly though, I don’t wear any makeup at all! In these photos I added a little makeup to my eyebrows and a lip color, other than that nothing, seriously! If you do prefer to add eyeshadow and liner, then it’s suggested to removed you eye makeup with oil-free makeup remover and a sponge or cloth. I was advised to brush through my lashes once a day with a mascara wand applicator (you usually get one to take home!) and to wash my lashes once a day gently with baby shampoo and water. Don’t sleep on them (sorry stomach sleepers!) just leave them alone for the most part.
It has only been a few weeks and I already love the time I save in the morning getting ready and the ease of always having long, flirty lashes with no effort at all! I would suggest them to anyone who might be interested in extending their lashes or saving a little time in the morning, and if you’re in my area then try out the amazing Andrea Slowick. She is so sweet and helpful, no question is a silly questions for Andrea, she will make you feel so comfortable and at ease if you’re nervous at all. I also felt nothing, honestly you could fall asleep and before you know it, you have lashes for days! Andrea has been an esthetician for over 10 years, doing lash extensions for 4, and if I trust her with my eyes, you can too!
I will be going in for my refill soon, it’s suggested to go every 3-4 weeks, and should take less time more like an hour to an hour and a half rather then the full 2 hours. A full set of eyelash extensions cost $150 and the refills are $50, many places I have seen can cost anywhere from $150-250 for a full set, so make sure to check your local salon prices. I am so excited about my fabulous new lashes and happy I could share my experience with you all!
