One year ago my husband and I were given the great honor of becoming this little man’s Godparents, it was such a surprise but most of all a privilege. Our Godson Steele Conrad Adams.
We accepted this honor with equal seriousness and excitement. We have loved watching him grow from a tiny bundle of joy, to a giant personality with those beautiful steel blue eyes you can’t help but fall head over heels for! Steele is full of life and excited to learn about the world, we cannot wait to continue sharing those experiences with him, and know each time we have to spend playing with him is a special time.
This past weekend I was fortunate enough to be part of Steele’s 1st birthday celebration! It’s unbelievable how time is flying by so quickly. Steele seemed to have a blast playing around and dancing with all of his glitter-aunties to the fun music, and learning to build his big birthday surprise swing-set with his uncles. Steele, not unlike his Fairy Godmama, likes to eat and enjoyed chowing down on all the yummy barbecue with his grandparents, especially sharing his corn-on-the-cob with his omi (grandmother) and getting birthday cake everywhere with po (grandfather)!
Our group of college friends that ATS and I consider family have been mentioned before here, we consider ourselves Friends who are Family. We all became best friends in college, and family ever since. Steele is the first baby in the group and makes each of us proud glitter-aunties and uncles. Our good friends Kate and Mike Adams brought this little joy into our lives, and somehow Robert and I were lucky enough to be considered for his godparents. As you can see by the smiles below, we all love Steele to pieces, not just because he is out-of-this-world adorable, but because he is now our family too. One day he will understand what that means, but for now he will be smothered with love from his glitter-aunties and have all of his uncles to look up to, to teach him about football, how to build a swing-set and most of all, how to be a gentleman.
It has been one incredible year, as we watched our little man of Steele grow and we cannot wait to see what next year brings! Many of the photos in the first part of this post, are from photo shoots taken every 3 months to show how much Steele has grown. As you might have noticed, Kate and Mike themed the photo shoots, the final photo shoot was a one year, cake smash shoot including a Superman theme – genius!
Steele, your godparents love you today, tomorrow and everyday!
