Happy Friday Lovelies!
It has taken me almost the entire month of January, but I am finally getting into a healthy routine! Maybe it was the warmer weather, anything above freezing I will take at this point, or maybe it was the motivational help of my husband, either way I am starting to feel like I am making some real improvement to my everyday health!
Previously, I had been getting to the gym a few times a week, usually over a lunch break from work. I have also been eating fairly healthy but continued to find myself snacking too often and eating completely unhealthy options over the weekends. I needed to make a change and this week Robert and I finally were able to pull ourselves out of bed to make it to the gym in the morning, and my goodness what a difference that makes! I am a person who loves routine, and as soon as I can get into one, I can stick to it. Now that we are beginning to wake up a little earlier to get our morning workout in, I feel better all day! Working out in the morning gives me this additional energy that helps improve my mood and gets my mind working sooner, no more trying to get myself into the mood to work while reading the news with a tired brain, now I can jump right into it! I also feel so great knowing I already worked out that day, and it’s not on my shoulders “that I have to do later”. Saying that sentence makes it a chore, and I have never liked chores. By getting the activity done right away, I feel better and I begin liking the activity more!
This week I had also began a newer lighter diet plan. It’s basically just choosing healthy options and eating smaller meals more often. I actually end up eating nearly every hour, which is great for me because I love eating! I have a ton more fruit and vegetables this way, I also add some different kinds of proteins like hard boiled eggs or cottage cheese (OMG I love cottage cheese!) Before this I would eat when I was hungry, bored, tired, or basically anytime between that. Now I can feel myself get hungry and know it’s time for another snack! Instead of gorging on chips or something that isn’t the healthiest option, I choose a clementine or rice cake and move on until I am hungry again. It has only been one week, but I can feel a difference and feeling healthier is the real goal here!
What are you healthy Living goals? I would love to hear how you have changed for the better towards a healthier happier you!
