“There’s a sad sort of clanging from the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too.
And up in the nursery, an absurd little bird
Is popping up to say, “Cuckoo cuckoo!”
Regretfully they tell us but firmly they compel us
To say goodbye to you.
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night.
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight…..”
– The Sound of Music
September 27th, 2017 – the day I must say goodbye to Soho2Noho. I thought it was fitting to start this farewell post off with a song from one of my favorite musicals – brought to you by the Von-Trapp Family. Just like Gretl Von-Trapp was in the musical, I find it very hard to say goodbye – and that applies to all aspects of my life, especially things that have brought me joy. Soho2Noho has been quite the ride – a creative adventure I got to embark on for over a year and a half. This blog brought on challenges – while juggling my current work-load, creative side – while brainstorming what new topics to post about on a weekly basis, but most of all – this blog brought me closer to Karissa. Now, if you are just joining the blog and are unaware – Karissa and I go way back to Springfield College. KPR & I were in different grades and didn’t really become super close until after we graduated and she got engaged to my good friend (and her now husband) Rob. My greatest joy in life has been my family – and my family has never stopped at those who share the same blood. Karissa is my family and if I had to name just one joy out of the last year and a half with S2N it would be how close this blog has made us become. Karissa, thank you for trusting in me to collaborate on this creative journey together, thank you for making me smile & laugh during our very first photo shoot when in real life I had just experienced such a bad day, thank you for making me smile every since then & thank you for being my fashion partner for life, blog partner & most importantly someone who I call one of my best friends…and even more importantly family. I will cherish this memory forever and know you will go on to make this blog everything that we had always envisioned…and then some.
To my readers. Most of you at this point are just that – my family & friends – my constant supporters. Thank you for reading my blog entires every week and for all the amazing comments, texts, emails, suggestions and inspiration that you’ve given me. This blog & my participation wouldn’t have been possible without all of YOU. It wouldn’t be fair to the blog that we worked so hard to create if I wasn’t able to give it the 110% of my time it deserves and that is why today will be my last day posting. While part of me wishes I could be apart of Soho2Noho forever, it is my time to start something new in my life and with that comes dedication and time. Maybe one day I will make a special guest appreciate on S2N, who knows – but for now…. I won’t say goodbye, but just farewell & thank you.
