Hope everyone is having a great week so far! If you’ve been a blog reader for awhile now Im sure you’ve seen the hot trend of bloggers posting about the contents of “Whats in my bag?!”. Now, I dont know why any of you would care what’s in my bag but I tend to always love to read about what is in others – so I figured, why not!
Today I am excited to introduce my newest addition to the blog, Raynor Recipes! I love watching people cook from the Food Network chefs on TV to my mother in-law Bettyann, I find it relaxing and super interesting all at the same time. I would love to just whip something up myself, but also know for me that is an unknown territory. So I want to challenge myself and start practicing by testing out different recipes, I will attempt main courses and desserts to yummy drinks and snacks – nothing is off limits! I am excited to share my experiences with all of you because I am sure I will find so many great & delicious finds, but I am also positive we will have a ton of laughs at my failed attempts and sad concoctions, which will always be noted at the bottom in the What I learned section, but we will have fun none-the-less!
So today I am kicking off my first Raynor Recipes posts with one of my Mother in-laws most well known recipes, and my absolute FAVORITE Betty’s Spicy BufFALLo-off-the-bone Wings! (trying a little word play there). Throughout these recipe posts you may be hearing a lot about Bettyann, she is an amazing person full of fun and always making you laugh, but most importantly she can make some amazingly delicious food & drinks and many of these recipes and inspirations will come from her. So thank you Bettyann for allowing me to share your special recipe today!
Let’s get started! First we will collect our ingredients, which I have listed below. You will see that none of this is healthy, by any means, so please be prepared for something incredibly delicious and absolutely mouthwatering, you WILL come back for more! I will note that not all of my Raynor Recipes will be this indulgent, I will include some healthy and yummy finds as well, no worries, but for now…
- 4lb. bag of frozen chicken wings
- 1 1/2 bottles of Franks Hot Sauce
- 4 pkgs of Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 stick of butter, melted
- 9×13 baking dish
- Celery (optional)
- Blue cheese (optional)
- Begin by preheating your oven to 400 degrees.
- Spread frozen wings in the bottom of your baking dish in a single.
- Mix all other ingredients together in a bowl (hot sauce, Italian dressing mix, lemon juice, and melted butter) and pour over your wings, making sure to coat them all thoroughly.
- When your oven in preheated and your wings are sauced, put them in the oven for 1 and a half hours, check your wings at 1 hour or until see the meat falling-off-the-bone.
- While you wait you can clean and slice your celery and prepare your blue cheese into individual bowls for your guest.
- Finally, sit back and enjoy!
What I learned:
- This recipe serves approximately 4-5 people. If you are cooking a fun weekend snack for just two, you can easily cut this recipe in half.
- I am all about a delicious indulgent recipe, and these wings are absolutely not one to count your calories with, but if you do want to try to lighten this up somewhere aim for the condiments, you can use the lighter versions of blue cheese. My favorite is Marie’s Blue cheese and their lite blue cheese is also very delicious and lighten the calorie intake, a little. You will not find this is the regular dressing isle, but rather in the produce section since it needs to be refrigerated.
- When it comes to flavor everyone has a slightly different taste, the Good Seasons Italian dressing mix can be salty to some, so feel free to add a little less if you want a slightly less salty flavor to your wings.
- I love a good presentation and use my Temptations cookware whenever entertaining. However, if I am serving just R and I, or heading to a fun tailgate party its super easy to use one of those foil throw away pans. You can pick one up at any grocery store for pretty cheap and they come is all different sizes and shapes for whatever recipe you might be cooking up. This will also make clean up super easy!
I will either serve these wings right from my Temptations Baking Dish or on a colorful tray, using tongs and a serving spoon because they can be very messy so be prepared with paper-towels or even wet-naps. These wings are ridiculously easy to make from frozen to fall-off-the-bone, and they are so so so good, too good not to share with all of you! I hope you all can impress your friends & family by serving these at your next get-together or feel free to keep it for yourself, because I can understand when something is this good, you might not want to share!
Happy Friday Friends!
As always, I hope everyone had a great week! I’ve had a pretty eventful/busy/sleepless work week myself. It started off being in the office one day, then on location for 2 full day shoot days, one at the beach and the second in Shio Studio’s in Brooklyn, NY. We shot our Fall Classic Editorial – these are all images/inventory that will hit our RTR site this coming Fall, so if your a lover of RTR, you wont want to miss these hot looks for Fall! Thursday & Friday I was on set in NYC, busy, busy bee I was for sure!! I have so much going on lately personally with getting things organized for our home purchase & with work that I have to keep this recap short and sweet – but enough about me anyway! I hope all of YOU have a lovely weekend!! I will be moving furniture to John’s mimi’s garage to keep in storage this weekend & finishing packing up my stuff at my childhood home – so if you need me, you can find me sweating and running on 4 hours of sleep, haha! Love you all, thank you so much for reading! PS- enjoy a cocktail..or 5 for me!

This past weekend I was able to celebrate with my dear friend Sarah for her 30th birthday! Those big birthdays are something special to celebrate for sure, and it was so much fun celebrating with her along with a few other friends to mark the special day. Here in Northampton we have many restaurants and bars in the village that you can walk to from my apartment, which makes for not only a fun night out on the town, but a safe one (No driving for us!). It is also super nice when a couple restaurants, such as our burger and pizza joints, stay open really late to help feed us those midnight snacks!!
It feels a little bit like we are back in college when we get together and essentially bar crawl through town, or what R and I lovingly refer to it as Northampton’s Around the World (Have you ever drank around the world in Disney’s Epcot? Worth a trip if you haven’t!) Since Northampton has so many cultural restaurants right in town one never has to go far for whatever they might be craving. From Indian or Italian to Vietnamese and good old greasy bar food, we have so many delicious places to choose from, and if you’re local you might begin to become friends with the bartenders and servers at the restaurants – which only makes for an even more exciting outing! I love having so much, so close. Its amazing because R and I could be in the mood for different things like Thai and burgers and can each get what we are craving on the same night, they are both just a short 3-5min walk away. We moved to Northampton for this reason, walking to grab take out, a drink or a show is the best thing about living in Northampton Village.
We not only have amazing restaurants and Bars but three music halls that bring in great musicians as well. R and I have seen one of our favorite groups The Band’s cover band. The Band was a group back in 1968 and after a separation from Ronnie Hawkins they joined Bob Dylan as his band for the 1965 world tour. Later going on their own and referring to themselves as “The Band” since that’s what they always were. Since most of the original musicians have now passed, we have seen their cover band who are literally called The The Band Band a few times now and they are just incredible! We have also seen other musicians like Foreigner, Dr. John, David Crosby & Graham Nash. From Friday night Art’s Nights out events to the annual Holiday stroll, Northampton has so much to offer and R and I love to take full advantage! It’s most fun when friends can come join us, so this weekend was special having the chance to celebrate such a dear friend. I love being able to share such special occasions with such special people!
Cheers to another good week!
Starting back after the New Year, in late January to be exact - I decided (after much convincing from my work & now fitness bff, Allison) to join ClassPass and really get in shape this summer. While I'd love to tell you I magically lost 15LB and feel amazing I will be honest...working out with our work hours is a real challenge. If you've followed along with S2N for awhile you probably have come to realize anything outside of work is a struggle these days for me, due to my long hour. I wanted to make working out a priority so I agreed to take on this fitness journey with AK (Allison). I've always been one of those people... If I look good, I feel good and in turn I thought it would make my work / life balance make more sense.
Fast forward to today, the end of June - I have taken 58 workout classes - averaging about 11 classes a month, which I think is an amazing accomplishment for me. I overall feel about 80% better and more energized each day. I workout very early in the morning so I am able to get to work by 7:30am ...yes, some days this makes me crash by about 4PM, but all in all workout has become a part of my life and I am not about to quit this lifestyle. I would recommend ClassPass to EVERYONE who loves classes vs. those of you who just love to hop on a treadmill and thats all you need. Growing up my life consisted around dance, cheerleading, sleep and school - I was extremely active but I was never one of those people who could head into a gym and "make the most of it"...I'm more like one of the people who dresses cute and goes to the gym to stand around, LOL. So, since ClassPass is ALL CLASSES - I knew it was for me!! If someone is giving me direction I am able to put 110% into the class as I want to be the best version of myself and be portrayed to be the best in the class. The other thing I LOVE about ClassPass is you can try a different class everytime if you wanted to, having the ability to have variety when working out is everything to me! If I am traveling, on set, feel like working out last minute - all I have to do is hop on the app or ClassPass.com, filter by my current location, time I want to workout and book a class! Yes, It is that easy! You can also choose the level you want each month, I am on the 10-Class Plan, which will give me 10-Classes per month at a set price, classes do not roll over, but I find that to be helpful to ensure I am working out as much as I would like. On the 10-Class Plan you can workout at the same studio up to 3x per month or go to 10 different studios if you would like! If you are in the Hoboken / NYC Area you MUST check out these studio - these are just some of my fav's I can't get enough of! (Bar Method, Sal Anthony's Movement Salon, Monster Cycle, Physique57, 4th Street Pilates) Living in Hoboken and working in NYC, this has been so helpful!! The prices for studios here are SOOO EXPENSIVE, so why not join ClassPass for a variety of classes, a set price per month and at your convenience?! SIGN UP FOR CLASSPASS HERE: (Try it out now and get your first month for only $19) Do you have a workout routine you can't get enough of? If so, leave a comment below - I would love to hear it! As always, thank you so much for reading!
I am a huge fan of summer nights. I love the cool evening weather and fire-pit gatherings. If you live, or summer, near the water then you know about nighttime beach parties and clambakes – they are the best! And I have the perfect summer sweater, a cozy oversized off shoulder cream knit. You can eat anything you want, without showing it, and still show off those tan shoulders!
Another necessity is a good summer wine! I fell deeply in love with Wölffer Rosé, nothing is better than the floral aromas of a pink wine in hand after a hot summer day. Wölffer’s Summer in a bottle is also the perfect art piece, designed by IWANT design. I love the idea of taking a little Hamptons sand and filling an empty bottle of Rosé, with the colors and the memories that can sit on your shelf as the perfect reminder of your summer nights!
(Big thank you to my Mother in-law Bettyann for taking these photos for me, your first time behind the camera wasn’t half bad!)
The final piece to complete my summer look is my pom straw clutch from Harper and Jewel. It adds such a fun pop of color, and is so lightweight. Just add your favorite sunnies and enjoy your summer ladies!
